Our response to COVID-19

The novel COVID19 and the lockdown, has brough many families to a desperate situation and in need of basic food items. Those who suffer the most are the ones from rural areas and township who rely on grants and have no financial security.

To mitigate the effects of the disaster Ripples for Change, Childline Eastern Cape and the Border Kei Chamber of Business have come together to offer food parcels to families from rural communities around East London.

The food parcels will be distributed through our existing and trusted network of Early Childhood Development centres in rural areas.

There are THREE ways the public can help us:


We appeal to food producers and manufacturers to donate dry food or offer us a reduced rate for their products. We wish to collect:

  • Maize meal

  • Bread Flour

  • Samp and Soup mixes

  • Coffee and Tea

  • Sugar

  • Rice, Pasta, Beans

  • Tins of food
