Through our Nana Abantwana programme, we strive to change early childhood development services at village level by mobilizing and strengthening existing centres and community structures.

Our programme supports 102 ECD centres in Chalumna, Mooiplaas, Dimbaza, Newlands rural communities in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa. It is centred on providing appropriate cognitive stimulation, nutrition, care and health services for pre-school children through a number of initiatives including:

  • Training, support and mentorship of ECD practitioners

  • Toy and book libraries

  • Donations of goods and furniture

  • Community of Practice - raises awareness and advocate for the provision of quality ECD services in each village
